Farewell iPod classic

Apple announced a new iPhone, and a watch, and they’ve also unveiled a new website. One thing they didn’t announce, however, is the demise of the iPod classic. There are now only three iPod models:

Farewell iPod classic. It was a good run.

(If you want to get one before it’s too late, you can still buy them on Amazon: Amazon.com, Amazon UK)

  1. If they had a $150 band the Nano would have been gone as well. (As it stands, what Apple dev wants to be stuck working on the weird Nano OS now anyway?)

  3. Pre iPhone I loved my iPod classics. I have a 40gb white & 80gb black.
Did they have a larger 120gb model for awhile?
Have a gold Nano too, the narrow tall one which I liked more than the newer designs.

  5. Glad I recently bought an iPod Classic. If you DON’T want to use iCloud with a Touch, it is frustratingly near impossible. Sync routinely doesn’t work. Classic lets me sync in the ALAC or AIFF files where iCloud does not. I routinely use my iwidgets as sources for my radio show and don’t want to have to download a tune in order to play it.

  7. I bought one earlier this year. Connect it to my Mac and it fills with over 100 gigs of music. My car’s infotainment system works perfectly with it, hopefully for years to come. Still have a couple of 10 gig ones around – click wheel and scroll wheel. Both still work. Such is the march of progress.
