iTunes Tip: Quickly Switch Media Libraries Without Clicking

In iTunes 12, the way you access media libraries has changed. You now click the small icons at the top-left of the iTunes window:

Library header bar

It can be annoying to have to move your cursor to that part of the iTunes window, and then click.

Just press Command-1 to go to your Music library, Command-2 to view your Movies, etc. Memorize these keyboard shortcuts and you’ll save a lot of time.

  3. All of these are helpful, but what about simply returning to My Music? Having search through all of the Keyboard shortcuts listed in iTunes help, I have yet to find the one keyboard shortcut I would perhaps use more than any other – take me to my music library. Even Siri can take me home in my car … Am I missing something?

    • You mean going to the Music library, then selecting My Music? I’ve not found a shortcut that gets you there, alas.
