New British passport has high-security William Shakespeare watermark on every page – Telegraph

“A new British passport design has been launched with extra security features and images from the country’s cultural heritage.

The travel document features characters from British history – seven men and two women – as well as iconic buildings and other historic landmarks, such as the Penny Black stamp.

A win for the Bard. It’s the 400th anniversary of his death next year, so nearby Stratford-Upon-Avon will be having festivities in the month of April.

    For all I know, you’ve already read the book. But I just the LRB review from last month of “The Year of Lear: Shakespeare in 1606”, and the review is LRB at its best. Also makes the book seem very enticing.
