This was shot using the first digital camera I ever had, a Hewlett-Packard HP PhotoSmart 318. I recall that bought it from my ISP for something like 999 F in 2000 or 2001. This photo has a date of January 19, 2001, but I suspect that’s not correct; I recall taking a number of photos for a book about Mac OS X, and the weather was not cold. In any case, behind the trees is Guillestre, in the Hautes-Alpes department of France, where I lived for a dozen years.
