Tune Sweeper 4 promises to be a one-stop fixer upper for iTunes libraries. It claims that it can:
- Find duplicates
- Download missing artwork
- Remove missing tracks from an iTunes library
- Find tracks on your Mac that aren’t in your library
- Fix incorrect tags
- Show you which tracks are Apple Music tracks
- Display statistics about your iTunes library, and your listening habits
While Tune Sweeper does most of these, it is a real laggard.

Kirk, do you have a recommended iTunes cleanup/repair utility? (It sounds like Tunes Sweeper isn’t it.)
I have had the track files in my library duplicated, e.g., I have two files for a song:
01 Only If for a Night 1.m4a
01 Only If for a Night.m4a
There’s no duplicated entry in iTunes, just in the file system.
Any idea what causes this, and (more importantly) how to repair it?
Thanks!
